*** I voluntarily reviewed this book, I gained no monetary incentives nor was I specifically requested to review the book, these are my honest ramblings and I hope you enjoy reading them - kat***
Overall this is a great selection of short stories and I enjoyed every one of them, having lived in Queensland for a few years it was like re-visiting old friends, here are my thoughts on each story:
Dared by Elena Eames
When Leesa Olsen is rescued by handsome firefighter Dare McCarthy, she knows she didn't exactly make a good impression. Will accepting a date with him help her cause?
My thoughts:
Sweet, funny and very entertaining. Dare can rescue me any day, and thankfully I can help him out in his phobia department too 😋
Crazy by Kolleen Fraser
The only thing Kat Winston fears more than Australia is love. She's about to get a crash course in both.
My thoughts:
This was a humorous trip across Australia, Kat (always like the characters that are named Kat 😜 She was a crazy older sister who ends up finding romance on her mission to drag her sister home. Although l laughed at the traffic cop scene, I think that the NSW cops must have a better sense of humour than the sunny coast ones 😉 as the ones who stopped me hadn't got one
Finding Love Down Under by S. Hartley
Aspiring author Dylan Phillips travels all the way to Australia to start the next chapter of her life. Neither she nor sexy Aussie pub owner Ian King are searching for love, but that is exactly what they find.
My thoughts:
An easy story to get lost in, Dylan let fate lead her on a new path, at the toss of a coin she ended up with an Aussie hunk rather than an Irish one 😘 it flowed well and for once a few dates were had before they do the deed.
Upside Down, Back to Front by Megan Lowe
To Vermont native Georgia, Australia is a little back to front. Then she meets Sam and he turns her already back-to-front world upside down.
My thoughts:A funny reminder of my time living in Queensland, the author got the humour just right.
Pineapple Dreams by Aria Peyton
On the first real holiday she's ever had with her teenage twin girls, all Belle expects is sun, sea, and to see all Australia's “big” things. The last thing she anticipates is finding love in a giant pineapple.
My thoughts:
I enjoyed this story. Not only because it was set mostly in Woombye which was near to where I lived in 2015, but the way the relationship was written was believable, yes young men can desire older women, and although I never do like authors constantly mentioning a woman's bodily differences to the media accepted stick size 0, the insecurities Belle had were from being inexperienced, not overweight.
Playing for Keeps by Gen Ryan
Pro rugby player Mason James St. Patrick is known not only for his skills on the field but in the bedroom. When PR rep Delaney Matthews is hired to clean up his image, will she be able to resist his charms or will she fall for the type of man she swore she never would?
My thoughts: AN ok story, I think it was hindered it from being a good story due to the size restraints of a novella. The relationship was accelerated, the ending was a bit rushed, I didn't get the authors vision of Delaney, in that if a 28 yr old hadn't traded in her v card she'd not be as quick to fall for Mason
