I knew the exact moment I’d become a ‘yes’ girl.
December 16th, a cold winter’s night, four years ago.
The night my innocence was stolen, the night I made the mistake of saying no—a mistake I’d never make again.
The dream of a ‘happily ever after' was now a locked away myth. I promised myself that I’d never return to the place of my worst nightmare, that I’d never let anyone get close, but then again, I never thought I’d meet someone like him.
The intense, confident and beautiful Ky Crawford.

I had no plans to become someone’s Prince Charming.
I couldn’t be. I refused to be. My plan was simple—do whatever it takes to correct my biggest mistake, my one regret that now controlled my life.
I was on track. I had plans, but then everything changed when I saw her—the girl in the red jacket, the girl who I was told couldn’t say no.
The reserved yet stunning Eden Rivers.

A girl who can’t say no.
A guy who craves redemption.
A chance encounter?

It all comes down to this.
One question.
One month.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I received a copy of the book in exchange for an Honest Review by the lovely Bombshell leader Rachel Brookes.
I don't do spoilers so I will try and give you a reason to buy this book with just my thoughts of what is told in the synopsis:
Author Rachel Brookes has created a compelling story out of a subject that some readers (like myself) that wouldn't immediately pick a book which deals with the subject matter, such as abuse, kidnapping, rape and the issues that those leave behind. Ms Brookes has created a story with characters that are multi layered, with insecurities born of circumstances beyond their control, but who grew stronger together...

A girl who can’t say no.
A guy who craves redemption.
A chance encounter?
It all comes down to this.
One question.
One month.
Eden is the girl, and one fateful night she becomes a ‘yes’ girl. she's been traumatized and is unable to say 'NO' to a request as a consequence of that dreadful night. 4 years later and she has made a simple life for herself in she is a photographer, but she is just existing, and when a job offer is given to her that is too good to pass up she makes the decision to return to the city she vowed never to return to.
Her best friend Tori accompanies her to begin with and she talks Eden into going out to a club.
Ky Crawford, is at the club and he is captivated by the girl in the red jacket...Eden.
He finds out from Tori that she can't say 'no', with his own demons that consume him Ky is drawn to Eden.
So he sets out to help Eden break out her walls, and reclaim her life. What he didn't expect was the connection they both felt, will Eden be his December? Or will he convince her to be his forever?
I also loved the way that Rachel created the other characters within the story in a way that they all had their part to play in the healing of both Eden and Ky, the friends and family members were both supportive of each of the main characters issues, but were not too controlling, they pushed when needed but when the situation required just silent support they did just that.
I didn't have anything that I hated in the book, but I had cottoned onto something quite early on, but that didn't put me off, and I enjoyed the story line as it developed. The end of the book was also not a surprise, but I am glad it ended as it did. and I am happy that I have read Eden and Ky's story.
The story is told in a duel POV, chapter by chapter; and it gave good insight into the way the characters felt and saw the situations.
I know that the next story in the series will be about Josh, who is Ky's Brother and Ky's best friend Ashlyn. and I will be getting that book, these two are best friends also and it will be interesting to see how Ms Brookes develops these two and what their story will involve.
I would recommend it to any reader who likes a book that has depth and meaning without over dramatising the subject matter.
