The “Book Lovers Unite for World Suicide Prevention Day” Tour

Today is my day to post about the “Book Lovers Unite for World Suicide Prevention Day” Tour.
This blog has been quiet for a while - due to my family situation, but this subject is important so I have taken time out of my busy Grandma duties to join this event and share my thoughts on the situation...Afterall this affects more people than you can imagine.

As you walk down the street, you may pass someone who is struggling, someone who hasn't spoken to a soul in days, and if you smile and say hello, you never know, it may make that persons day... I try to look people in the eye, smile, say good morning, and answer back if someone says it to me. I have had days where I felt completely alone and that the world was just so hard to deal with, so that's why I make the effort and also why I am participating today. I have dealt with Depression, Anxiety, and abuse in my family and I am a great believer in Counseling rather than medication I am not going to go into specifics but Depression, Anxiety and even Suicide have been issues I have had to deal with in my family since I was a teenager old enough to understand what Depression was, and why I had to help my mum out more than my friends did theirs...

So many people don't understand mental illness. They think that sadness and clinical depression, or nervousness and clinical anxiety, are the same things. Well-meaning people say things like, "Suck it up," and "Overcome," and "Choose to be happy." Or, "Focus on your blessings," and "Put a smile on that face." I've even said things like that--before I came to understand. I may not have had first-hand experience, but being a daughter and a mum of someone who does, means I now have a greater understanding of the complexities for each individual. And so many people feel alone and misunderstood and have given up on fighting their mental illness. They need to know about resources. They need to know they're not alone and that there's help. But for some reason, many people think of mental illness as a personal weakness rather than as a disease like high blood pressure or cancer.

Sassy Ever After: From Scotland, With Sass (Kindle Worlds Novella) (Highland Wolf Clan Book 7) Review @AvaKMichaels

Blurb

Belle is just too sassy for her own good. It’s gotten her into hot water one time too many and she knows she’s treading a thin line with her Alpha. So what does she do when she’s forced to pick up a sexy-as-sin Scotsman and return him to the Pack? Heck, as soon as the Alpha’s mate goes near him, she growls at her! She’s lucky to make it out of there in one piece, and she’s sure it’s the hot Highlander who saved her.

What was supposed to be a pick him up, drop him off, and make her getaway kinda day, turns into a scorching hot encounter that takes her breath away, at the same time as her sanity. Mr. Sex-on-Legs Scotsman has her heart racing every time he glances her way, her Wolf acting like a love-sick pup, his beast calling to hers as only a soul-mate can.

With rogue Wolves in the area, willing to take what they want, and what they want is Belle, can the lovers find each other and seal their bond before it’s too late?

Read New York Times Bestselling Author, A K Michaels addition to the Sassy Ever After world which is also book seven in her Highland Wolf Clan series, packed full of hot Shifters, sassy females, intrigue, passion, and thrills.

Sassy Ever After: From Scotland, With Sass (Kindle Worlds Novella) (Highland Wolf Clan Book 7)Sassy Ever After: From Scotland, With Sass (Kindle Worlds Novella) by A K Michaels
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

*** I voluntarily reviewed this book, I gained no monetary incentives nor was I specifically requested to review the book, these are my honest ramblings and I hope you enjoy reading them - kat***

So this book is linked to the Highland Wolf Clan Series
which I loved. We Have Sandy, the Beta from the Scottish Pack sent over to help with the Rogue problem the US pack are having problems with. Belle from the Black paw pack is sent to pick Sandy up - she is a bit of a willful gal (our sassy lass) and also a bit reticint at listening to her feelings (it seemed a bit odd to me that she did not recognise her feelings were about meeting her mate) as this seems to be something that is discussed in a pack and she knew about the 'senting ceremony her pack held) but other than that, its another fast paced shifter book from Ms Michaels. I enjoyed the brief inclusion of Cam from the other series too.

Review: Escape: Flora (Blood Courtesans) by A.K. Michaels & Michelle Fox, @AvaKMichaels @AuthorMFox

Escape: Flora (Blood Courtesans)
“Flora, that’s a beautiful name,” Maxwell stares intently at me, his eyes raking from head to toe then back again, making my feet shuffle and my heart rate explode in my chest. “I think you’ll do nicely for my time here. Remember, Flora, you are mine for the duration of my visit. All mine. After I leave you will get paid and can go on with your life however you see fit.”
Welcome to the world of Blood Courtesans.
Where Vampires are real and blood is a commodity that can give me my means of escape.
Money. Freedom. Escape. That’s my only reason for selling myself, body and blood, to Maxwell Steele, this cold and lethal being before me.
I’ll go to any lengths to escape being a prisoner within a Wolf Pack, including offering myself as a Blood Courtesan to a powerful and deadly Vampire. First I have to escape the Pack, and my Alpha father. Will Maxwell be strong enough to protect me? I hope so: he’s my last hope for freedom and to live life as I want. I pray I’ll survive, and I pray I’ll keep my soul intact. My name is Flora and this is my story
The Blood Courtesans project is a multi-author series set in the world created by Michelle Fox.

Review

This was a quick but enjoyable read, it reminded me of the of bodice ripping romances I used to sneak off my mum. With the authors Scottish humour seeping into her innocent but determined character Flora and our Vampire with a conscience, who spots Flora riding on his land. And then finds her applying to be his Courtesan for his stay in Scotland. The story reminded of a few of my of my favourite films Highlander in some scenes I pictured Gothic mansions, wild moors and heather covered views and brooding skies. And Max reminded me of Carlisle Cullen with his reticence for hurting humans for food, I was quite sad when I got to the end. I could have easily read another books worth of the characters ad their journey to their HEA

REVIEW

Guild of Dragon Warriors (Jaxon's Sanctuary, #1)Guild of Dragon Warriors by A.K. Michaels
Kat's rating: 5 of 5 stars

*** Gifted in exchange for an honest review ***

This is the first in a series of 'Dragon Shifter' books and a spin off series which is set at the end of the The Black Rose Chronicles, Battle and Betrayal: Book 3 The Dragons are pivotal in the fight against the Demons ( No spoilers, but I recommend this series if you have not read it yet, as you will enjoy this series more if you have read it, but saying that I guess this book can be read without it as the author does give enough background into this book for you not to be confused, but it would kinda give the ending of that series away!) And I have not read a series that I haven't enjoyed of Ms A.K. Michaels She writes fast sexy paranormal romance and I love it! The story as I said begins when Jaxon is heading back to his homeland to recover from his injuries, and when he is only just recovered he has to go out on another mission, to save a female and a baby, but his one will bring more than he expected, and he has a hard time with it too, putting his foot in his mouth on one or two occasions! We meet the rest of Jaxon's Dragon Warriors as they fight to protect Sidra, and I look forward to reading more about these interesting Warrior Dragons... In a world that is ravaged and broken it was great to see that the love of 'Books' and 'Shoes' are not lost... and some of the things the characters said had me laughing along, thinking omg what would I do without my E-reader or a non stop supply of books or shoes for that matter! (HORROR!) but I will let you find out yourself those moments... I read this book in one sitting ( I had just moved abroad and living with a friend! so other than washing up I was free to get lost in this magical world) I do wonder what other mysterious and magical characters are lurking in Ms Michaels mind - and look forward to finding out hopefully in the not to distant future! Make time to sit and enjoy this book - its action packed! I am waiting impatiently for the next book to hit the shelves!

Supernatural Enforcement Bureau, Book 1, The Dragon and The Vampire By A.K. Michaels Release Day Event & Review

As Director of the Supernatural Enforcement Bureau, powerful Vampire Ronan, thought he had seen it all...until he discovers that Dragons actually exist. Can he help the Dragon being hunted on his patch? He certainly has the means at his disposal...if they can find it first...before the dark magic-wielding Witches and their Vampire cohorts.

After seeing the magnificent beast with his own eyes he can't turn from the task, even if he wanted to. Especially as his Sire, Josef, gives him a direct command to find the Dragon and keep it safe. No matter the cost.

With rogue Vampires and Witches on its trail, it's only a matter of time before they capture it. That's not something Ronan will allow...not on his watch! He will do whatever it takes to find and save the Dragon, using every powerful being at his disposal, including the dark and dangerous Creed.

Supernatural Enforcement Bureau, Book 1, The Dragon and The VampireSupernatural Enforcement Bureau, Book 1, The Dragon and The Vampire by A.K. Michaels
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

*** I received this book in exchange for an honest review***

A K Micheals is an Author that I have been following after reading Alex's Destiny, as a lover of Paranormal Romance books, Ms. Michaels has entertained me and left me wanting for more, and I jumped at the chance to review this book.

This book is another series I want to continue to read, and I have the first book of The Witch, the Wolf and the Vampire as some of the characters in this book are also in that series.

Although please note, you can read this book series without reading the other, and I had no problems.

This book is about Ronan, a powerful vampire who is in charge of the SEB (Supernatural Enforcement Bureau) he thought he had seen it all in his long life, until he finds out that DRAGONS are real!

He is to use all his available resources to ensure the Dragon is protected.

Ronan is the perfect Book Hero, tall, strong, handsome and honorable. I want him to rescue me! He can't turn from this mission, even if he wanted to, his Sire, Josef, gives him a direct command to find the Dragon and keep it safe. No matter the cost.

This story line hooks you from the beginning, the world building gives your imagination lots to work with, I got lost in this book and didn't want to put it down.

A K Micheals feeds your imagination, the suspense, action and romance, and of course great characters. I can't wait to find out how the team go about rescuing the captured Dragon, and finding out more about the fascinating characters that inhabit Ms Micheals imagination.

If you love Paranormal Romance, then add A.K. Micheals to your list of Authors to read.

I also want to send a shout out to the Cover designer - those eyes just draw you in! I love the image. In fact I love all the character images that Ms Michaels created. Check out my blog post to see them my link text
