Nicolai Romanov is one of the world’s most eligible billionaires, tall, royal, hot, and ripped, and he just drunk-married a commoner off the streets of Las Vegas.
And the worst part is, he’s falling in love with her.
But surely there’s no way Lexi Byrne, a recently jilted bride from Nowhere, Nebraska, can fit into Nicolai’s dazzling, jet-set, royal billionaire world.
Not at a huge Vegas nightclub party with more royal titles than a historical romance novel.
Not among his tall, gorgeous, eerily beautiful friends who look like they stepped out of a romantasy series.
Not when her ex-fiancรฉ of course stumbles across them in the casino.
And definitely not when a Russian mafia boss begins hunting them down, angry that Lexi stole the rich prince he wanted to marry to his bratva princess daughter.
Because with Nicolai’s royal blood and his bratva’s power, Demyan Volkov could rule the world.

Review
The Vacation Mix-Up by K.M. GollandMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
K M Golland is back with a hit ๐ฏ ๐๐คฉ๐.
Ms Golland has a gift for writing emotional stories that have humour, steamy scenes that are part of the story, not just inserted because it is expected, with a hint of life's ups and Downs.
The scenario for this story... One cabin on a cruise but double booked by two Riley Wilson's. Could it happen? I'm not sure, but it's definitely a great idea for a romcom ๐.
I loved how Ms Golland had both characters, upset but determined not to lose the 'good cabin' and smart enough to ensure some upgrades for the inconvenience.
The story starts out with both of the Riley's being annoyed and wary of their cabin buddy, but with Ms Gollands words, the story unfolds into a book I didn't want to put down.
There are some seriously hilarious situations, a look into the joys and downfalls of cruising life and dining companions.
This book moved me to tears of joy and also sadness, the shared moments of grief, truly hitting home.
(When my mum died in 2022, and it hits you at some unexpected times, I really felt connected to Riles as she said goodbye to her mother ๐ญ)
Now into the happy tears, and the rolling in laughter tears were more prevalent, so I spent long into the night trying to not to wake up my sleeping hubby with my sides splitting in laughter.
I was not ready to end this book, I was sad I had to leave these two, but can't wait to see what Ms Gollands got in store for us in book 2 ๐.
This books totally worth 5 out of 5 stars ✴️ ✴️ ✴️ ✴️ ✴️ ๐คฉ

Review - Jasper Creek series: Joy’s Homecoming by Caitlyn O'Leary
This is a rewrite of Until Joy.
If you have already read that book based in Aurora Roses world, the changes to place it into the Jasper Creek, still had me turning the pages to find out what happened next.
If you haven't read the previous version, you have a treat in store, grab your copy now here:
My Review
Joy’s Homecoming by Caitlyn O'LearyMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
l love Caitlyn O'Leary's combination of Alpha males, SEALs and her Small Town romance world's. and when she had to rewrite Until Joy, and moved it into the Jasper Creek series (it did reference Jasper Creek, melding a combination of both in the original)
so although I knew some of this story, I jumped straight in to see what the difference would be with it set just in Jasper Creek.
the rewrite still has Joy in London, and she didn't have a great time in London, she came home and tried to forget, and she didn't tell anyone in her family but Little Grandma knew something was wrong and being home with her parents wasn't fixing it, so she helps her find a job (Vet Tech) and Joy moves in with Miss Laverne. which is where Joy first meets Graham Wallace — Ex Navy SEAL, who's also dealing with trauma from his last SEAL operation.
Graham senses that Joy is nervous and hiding something from her past, and so he goes slow, and it's definitely a slow burn romance, but I liked how he courted Joy ๐ ๐.
Joy gradually starts to open up with her work colleagues And even has the courage to get on stage and sing...
unfortunately this event triggers someone in the audience watching.
The suspense and intrigue kicks up a notch when Joy receives unwanted flowers...
Then Joy tells Graham about what really happened in London.
l liked the way Caitlyn structures this part of the story, bringing in previous characters from the series who work with Graham at Onyx Security.
Joy was a smart and courageous woman, who with the help of family and friends, not only learn to put the past behind her, but when in the face of danger, use her wits to save herself.
I'm not going to say much more, but I love how she didn't play the damsel in distress, she was quite adept at helping herself when the need arose.
I enjoyed this story, the rewrite still kept me entertained and is a good addition to compliment the Jasper Creek series

REVIEW: Brave Enough by Nicole Craig
Brave Enough by Nicole CraigMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
Book 5 in this series, I'm really enjoying this world of secret heros who work behind the scenes and official laws, to try and bring down the evil group who have been around for centuries, Tribe with the help of Mythos are finally understanding how insidious they are, and how ingrained in normal society they have become.
Mouse:
She may not know who she is or how she got where she is now, but she knows that the man guarding her will do so with his life. The bigger question: why does she feel like she needs protection?
Midas:
Studious child, man of the house, responsible brother, thief, computer genius. Why not add bodyguard to his list of roles? He’s had so many over the years, he’s completely lost track of who he is anymore.
Two lost souls brought together by Fate.
It’s instant attraction for Mouse and Midas—an attraction they’re afraid to give in to. When her memories begin returning, the truth of who she is could be the end of much more than just their relationship.
Okay... That is as much as I want to discuss on the plot, enjoy finding out the story as I did (I hate revies that basically tells the book!).
Now to how I feel about the characters and the overall book:
Pacing is fast and keeps you turning the pages to see what will happen next.
I really loved the introduction of the side characters that arrive with Mouse ๐... Oh I look forward to hearing more about them in the future books.
The relationship that slowly emerges between Midas and Mouse, was written really well, it felt believable and relevant to the situation.
Lastly this book deals with a lot of things that may cause some triggering as it deals with extensive past abuse, violence, and sexual situations. So this book is for mature readers.
I can't wait for the next book ๐

It’s difficult to be brave when you’ve been running scared your whole life.
She’s woken up with no idea who she is.
She may not know who she is or how she got here, but she knows that the man guarding her will do so with his life. The bigger question: why does she feel like she needs protection?
It’s always been easier to be what others expect him to be.
Studious child, man of the house, responsible brother, thief, computer genius. Why not add bodyguard to his list of roles? He’s had so many over the years, he’s completely lost track of who the “real” Midas is anymore.
Two lost souls brought together by Fate.
It’s instant attraction for Mouse and Midas—an attraction they’re afraid to give in to. When her memories begin returning, the truth of who she is could be the end of much more than just their relationship.
Trigger warning for extensive past abuse, violence, and sexual situations. This book is for mature readers.

REVIEW
Defending Home by Caitlyn O'LearyMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
let me say first of all, I love Blessing and all her 'woo woo' this character is so mysterious and interesting!
Nolan O’Rourke's family are his teammates, they had never let him down.
He doesn't talk much about his past, His childhood was hell, then Nolan finds out that his mother, the woman who had made his childhood a nightmare, had died giving birth to his baby sister, he has to go back to Jasper Creek, the hell hole he grew up in, to meet the woman currently looking after his sister.
Mary Smith is on the run, from a family most people would report to social services, she's been hiding and moving with the help of her brother. But even after five states and three names she's still on the run from a the abusive narcissist her daddy says she belongs too. She needs to run again, but the promise she made to her friend (Nolan's mum) means she needs to find Nolan and get him to take his sister.
When Nolan finally turns up, it's not long before he's smitten by both of them.
Mary has learned not to trust men, but something about Nolan has her wanting to stick around and explore the feelings he is making her feel.
Nolan has a protective streak a mile wide and he's soon organizing his teammates to help Mary stay safe.
Nolan's past also rears its head, so they end up with a few hairy moments, and It's touch and go for a while to whether the pair will manage to overcome all the obstacles in their way, but...they do finally get their HEA, which I really wanted for them both.
I was very happy with what happens to the 'bad guys' - hehe - they got exactly what they deserved. I got quite bloodthirsty tbh. I guess I was channelling my mama bear emotions towards Mary.
I do love reading Caitlyn O'Leary's SEAL series. And I want to read more about Blessing.

CARNAGE series Re-Read #1 The story of us by Lesley Jones
Re read REVIEW
The Story of Us by Lesley JonesMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
3rd Oct 2025 thoughts:
OMG 11 YEAR'S, YES ITS BEEN 11 YEAR'S SINCE THIS BOOK BROKE ME.
AND IT STILL HAD THE EXACT SAME OUTCOME.
I had an inner monologue warning me to prepare myself as I was reading, knowledge can be a good thing sometimes but when you know that the story will turn you into a ball of snotty heart broken mess, it's also not ๐ซฃ.
my stomach was twisted as I reaquainted myself with George and Sean.
LESLEY JONES still has her ugly cry queen crown, her words still broke me, thankfully I can jump into the next book this time, whereas when I first read this book, she was still deciding if she was going to write anything else about Georgia (cruel lady ๐)
FYI if you haven't gone down the CARNAGE rabbit hole yet... ๐ ๐ณ️ jump in now!
2014 ORIGINAL REVIEW:
I finished this book 2 hours ago, and I was in pieces when I had finished... Now don't get me wrong I loved this book and it gets an Awesome 5 stars for being an epic read, but hell it should come with a Health warning... there is NO HEA. the plot line is very personal for me. I met the love of my life at school... so I am going to attempt to write a review for you without spoilers, but my Emotions are F##ked so I apologise in advance for the upcoming ramblings...
Our Main Female character is Georgia or George as she is known and she meets her brothers friend Sean “Maca” McCarthy when she is out in her back garden swinging upside down on the monkey bars with her bestie Jimmie - she's eleven years old. I loved the innocence of the story as it starts, they grow into each others lives and it was nice and made me remember those innocent childhood years (its set in the era that I grew up in as a young lass)
The Main Male Lead character is Sean and he is Georges brothers best friend and when they clap eyes on each other there is an instant connection between the two of them and what starts out as a friendship soon develops into young love. Now the other thing that Sean loves is Music... and he and Georges Brother Marley form a band - Carnage (yes the name of the book).
The band has quite a following by the time they are teenagers - and at that time George and Sean are about to take their fledgling romance to the next level - as they do - Young in love teenagers, we have all been there! (well I have) And Lesley Jones really writes it in a way that I could relate to, maybe being a Brit (I'm not an Essex girl), but I really got the era, the music and the way it was and got emotionally involved, I guess falling in love at school, holidaying in Spain etc was quite easy to put myself in Georges shoes.
Young love is never easy, but thankfully they have supportive influences and they are happy together. It was like they were put on earth to just love each other (sappy I know - but I have been there so Its not too hard for me to imagine)
There are a lot of passages and phrases in this book that leap out to you and one of the ones that made me laugh was ...
As well as beginning a 'romantic' relationship Marley & Sean’s band Carnage starts to gather momentum and Groupies ( and George is not one to share whats hers!) and this makes things a bit awkward, her jealousy and selfishness and immature attitude really show, but some of its justified.
ONE GROUPIE... Lets call her "THE SPAWN OF SATAN" ends up on the wrong side of Georges temper and this creates Georges nemesis - although she never quite realised how one incident would affect the rest of her future.
George is still in school, but fly's out to meet the Band on their Spanish tour... now George does not handle the groupies very well, but when you are young and dealing with having a very sexy older boyfriend that's a rising star is hard to deal with So I got that.
Now at this point when the Bands rise to fame and all its seedy side effects are happening it was a bit difficult for me to read... I have NEVER taken drugs and there is a lot of it in the storyline... I have always thought that 'snorting Coke' was addictive and you spiraled into the drain (Katy Perry s song circle the drain was popping into my head at this point of the story) But you really get wrapped up in their Epic love story hoping like hell that Sean won't stuff it up!
And Sean - oh he tried, bless him, when he was with George, he is his normal self, Kind and loving - he really does love her, he writes most of the songs about her, I fell in love with him too but I could see the loving, kind boy he was getting swallowed up in the slime of the industry - so I wasn't too surprised how the plot line developed. I mean with the Rock God title and the screaming girls all the Band members let it go to their head, and he starts using more and more drugs... enough said!
I felt like saying - WAKE THE Fk UP!

One of the lines that I highlighted (*I do that with some books... Highlight the parts that really get me emotionally involved). The part where Sean says...
" I'll love you forever G, wherever I am in the world, whatever I'm doing, it will always be you, I'm yours, for as long as you want me, for as long as I'm good for you. I'm all yours"
BUT he didn't live up to that promise and he breaks Georges heart into a million pieces... (I was so mad with Sean and Marley at that point - I wanted to Beat them to hell!)And then you are left feeling the grief of that Destined Love being crushed and you think how on earth will she get over it... BOX of Kleenex Tissues is a must while reading this book.

But then years later George starts to live again... MEET Mr TDH... (Tall Dark and Handsome) 'Cam' (Lesley has awesome taste in men - I love her Muse)and I thought - YES George is finally going to get her HEA...
but NO Ms Jones has other ideas in store... I am going to stop here, as I said I didn't want to give away spoilers, so I am going to end with saying... there will be a point when you are reading and you will be... I didn't see that coming!

IF you want to read a book that will have you engrossed and involved - with both the ups and downs of life then BUY THIS BOOK - I don't regret reading this book - not in the least
Yes I was SHOCKED and BLINDSIDED by the ending.

Have you ever tried to read through ugly tears and glasses (thank god I was reading it on a kindle - so I could enlarge the text so I could read through the floods of tears!)
Lesley Jones has done an AWESOME job in creating a gut wrenching story that you just can't put down... Yes I am Emotionally exhausted ( I hope I can sleep tonight as I have a long drive ahead of me tomorrow!) and after reading the end I posted this on my FB page: THIS WAS ME!
l recommend this book to any Genre book lover - but due to the contents its definitely an over 18 read - I give it
l have a message to Lesley Jones... you are first Author to evoke a post with GIFS, I NEEDED them as I couldn't write how I felt after reading your book with words ... I need a HEA in Book two...

I'm now off to take my emotional self off to bed... I apologize if there are any spelling mistakes or that this review makes no sense whatsoever!
